Meaning- Chair
Reading- い
How I remember it-
Remember in this post When I explained 木 was somewhere inside the post. It means tree, or wood, or timber, but in this kanji I remember it as wood.
And I also explain what 大 meant in this post . A headless stick figure,
You see how the headless man is sitting or something, like a line, and a hook on the bottom is holding that line up? I think of it as the chair, that the 大 is sitting on. as for the 木, chairs were normally made from wood, we have to know that kanjis were made back then, not now where chairs are made of metal.
A 椅 is a 木 That 大 Sit on. and 可 is what the chair looks like.
A chair is a Wood that People Sit on.
