1. الهوى

يقال إنه ميْل النفس

It is said to be the initial attachment.

2. الصَّبْوة

وهي الميل إلى الجهل

This is where you have now become so attracted, you overlook their flaws and see them as virtues.

3. الشغف

هو مأخوذ من الشّغاف الذي هو غلاف القلب

This is the stage where the lover has become so dear, they have now enclosed a special part over your heart. 

4. الوجد

هو الحب الذي يتبعه مشقه في النفس والتفكير فيمن يحبه والحزن دائما

This is the stage where the lover has now become an embodiment in someone, where the lover’s absense is grief and their presence is bliss. 

5. الكَلَفُ

هو شدة التعلق والولع، وأصل اللفظ من المشقة

This is when the connection has become so strong, the thought of separation is frightening. 

6. العشق

العشق فرط الحب وقيل هو عجب المحب بالمحبوب يكون في عفاف الحب ودعارته

This is when the love has embellished, and everything that other person does, has become flawless and excellent, they have now taken a special residence in the depths of your heart, mind, and soul.
